Patagonian Rosewood Turning Blank

Patagonian Rosewood Turning Blank

(Anadenanthera macrocarpa) is a sustainable tropical hardwood that grows in northern Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. Patagonian Rosewood (more accurately known as Curupay), features a dark tan color with sporadic stripes that tend to turn a red brick color over time due to oxidation. Not a true member of the rosewood family, Patagonian Rosewood is very similar to Bloodwood in density, hardness and interlocking grain structure.
Patagonian Rosewood is easy to turn, takes detail very well and can be finished to a mirror-like finish. Handling instructions included

  • Turning blanks are sold partly seasoned with no guarantee of moisture content.
  • Due to difficulty in maintaining a regular supply, wood will not be back ordered if out of stock.
