Mahoney's Walnut Oil Utility Finish is a specially blended walnut oil that penetrates deep into the wood and hardens quickly leaving a rich, durable wood finish that won't evaporate like "off the shelf" mineral oil finishes.
Mahoney’s finishes are made with pure California Walnut oil that is very high in linoleic acid. This particular acid is what gives the oil its ability to dry. Once dry, it'll leave a durable, food-safe wood finish that can be easily re-applied.
Mike Mahoney also uses his Walnut oil finishes for "submersion finishing" which includes submersing turned bowls for an extended period of time, then letting them drip dry prior to buffing. Instructions included.
